Hi! I’m Dev, a Specialist Orthodontist and I have had the honour of being the Principal of Sutton Orthodontics for the past five years. I grew up and did most of my training in London completing the Membership in Orthodontics examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2001.

For the past twenty years I have worked in Specialist Practice in South London and have been dedicated in helping to create healthy, confidence building smiles for children and adults. The specialty has seen huge advances in the way we can do this and I can safely say that I still love what I do.

I strongly believe having a straight, healthy smile promotes life-long good oral healthcare and has long lasting benefits. When I’m not straightening teeth, I am a keen gym bunny, restaurant critic (unpaid) and theatre goer. COVID begone!

Dr Claire McGovern

I graduated from the Royal Dental Hospital in London in 1982 and my postgraduate orthodontic qualification was obtained at King’s College, London in 1990. I have been working at Sutton Orthodontics since 1992. Since then I have also worked as a part time lecturer in the orthodontic department at King’s Dental Hospital as well as an orthodontist in the community service so have experience in all areas of orthodontic care.

I have two teenage children so most of my free time is spent acting as their taxi service and social secretary! I have also been a governor at their prep school for many years. The rest of the time I enjoy taking my dog for long walks and when possible the odd trip to the theatre.

I thoroughly enjoy my job and feel privileged to be able to work both with children and adults helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.

Lina Nobrega

Lina Nobrega RDN, Dip Orth (Warwick)

I graduated from Warwick Medical School in 2010 with a Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy and is registered with the General Dental Council.

Since qualifying, I have worked with both Private and NHS patients. I have over 16 years experience working in Orthodontics.

I joined Sutton Orthodontics in 2020 to maximize my time helping patients achieve their fantastic smiles alongside Dr Arya’s Team.

Outside dentistry, I enjoy gardening, travelling, interior designing and spending time with my family!

Charlotte Kara, Orthodontic Therapist

Since joining the Practice, I have gained my qualifications in Dental Radiography and Radiology, Oral Health Education, and NEBDN Orthodontic Nursing.

I have a passion for oral health promotion and awareness in our community and I have visited children with special needs at their schools to promote oral health and still continue to do some oral hygiene sessions here in the practice.

I began dental nursing in 2003 and gained my NEBDN nursing qualification in 2005. I worked in General Dental Practices for 13 years and found my passion in orthodontics when I joined Sutton Orthodontics in June 2016.

This year, I achieved my goal and began my studies at Kings College Hospital as a Trainee Orthodontic Therapist.

I enjoy spending time with my lovely family, I am a mum of two, boy and a girl and I have two chihuahuas who make me smile! I enjoy practicing yoga, mainly Vinyasa and Sun salutations as well as meditating on a beach somewhere nice and hot!

I’m Jo, I qualified as Dental nurse in 2001. I went on to do the Radiography qualification in 2004 and Orthodontic Nurse
qualification in 2009.

I have been at Sutton Orthodontics for over 20 years. I enjoy my role as Lead Orthodontic Nurse and love being a part of the beautiful smiles we create.

In my spare time, I play the saxophone (self taught during first lockdown), Ballroom and Latin dancing, keeping fit and singing along to songs on the radio!

Hi, I am Iram.  My main goal has been to work within the health service, but I never really found my place until I started working at Sutton Orthodontics. It has been such an experience that has inspired me to progress further in my career in dentistry particularly, Orthodontics!

I have gained so much knowledge and it has shown me how much I love working alongside the clinicians to help transform a patient’s smile.
